Jon was ordained as an elder in 2023, following faithful service as a deacon. Throughout his ministry, he has been known for his thoughtful, steady care for God’s people.
During his time as a deacon at Cedar, Jon helped develop effective systems for managing the church’s finances, bringing clarity and organization to budgeting and giving. As an elder, he continues to apply that same careful and intentional approach in supporting both the administrative and shepherding work of the session.
Jon graduated from Grand Valley State University’s School of Engineering in 2009 and works at Gentex Corporation as an equipment design engineer, where his analytical and systematic mindset is put to daily use.
Jon and his wife, Jenny, have four children. As a family, they enjoy spending time together and attending their children’s many activities. In his free time, Jon enjoys dreaming and planning with Jenny, cozy game or movie nights with the family, and relaxing with a good book while watching the sunset over Lake Michigan.
